Crimson Desert adds cross-save in its latest update

Why it matters

Cross-save makes it easier for players who own Crimson Desert on more than one platform to continue the same game without starting over.

  3. What remains unclear

Pearl Abyss has released Crimson Desert patch 1.14. The main addition is cross-save support for PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Cross-save lets a player continue with one save file across supported platforms. It is a practical feature for anyone who moves between a console and PC or changes where they play.

How cross-save works

Players need to use a Pearl Abyss account and connect the platforms they want to use. The feature does not mean that buying the game on one platform gives access on every other platform. A separate copy may still be needed.

The patch notes list PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store as the platforms that support cross-save. The Mac App Store version received the patch, but it is not listed as part of the cross-save group.

Other fixes

Patch 1.14 also fixes several smaller problems. One quest could become impossible to finish, and another bug could stop the player from controlling a character during a pet interaction.

Pearl Abyss also adjusted some combat inputs and fixed an aerial move that could be interrupted during a fall. Other fixes cover missing sound effects, sounds that would not stop, unusual mount animation, and NPCs having trouble moving through open gates.

The studio says the patch includes general stability work and language fixes as well.

What remains unclear

The patch notes do not explain every limit of cross-save. Players should read the separate account guide before linking platforms, especially if they already have different progress on more than one system.

The feature is still a welcome quality-of-life update. Crimson Desert launched in March, and Pearl Abyss has continued to release fixes and larger system changes since then.
