The rifle and the crossover are different offers
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 — Terminated was announced for August 5, 2026 at 5 p.m. Pacific. The official July 29 announcement preceded the later Xbox coverage; the Spanish-language release followed July 30.
The most useful distinction is the unlock path. Cronen Squall appears in the free Battle Pass track. The Terminator crossover includes paid offers. Buying into the licensed theme should not be confused with the requirement to obtain that announced rifle.
Classify the content before judging the value

“Free” still describes an unlock path, not necessarily immediate access without playing. Conversely, a paid cosmetic’s presence does not establish that every part of the season is paywalled.
For a returning player, this separates two decisions: whether the gameplay update is worth time, and whether a themed purchase is worth money. Marketing presents them together, but the player does not have to evaluate them as a single package.
A named mode is not a balance verdict
The announcement gives more detail than a generic promise of multiplayer and Battle Royale changes. It does not establish how well a new weapon fits the live balance or how smoothly every phone runs the update.
Those questions need play and device evidence. A trailer can explain a theme; it cannot measure frame-time consistency on a particular handset. Regional prices and reward odds also belong to the actual offer terms, not assumptions drawn from a promotional summary.

The corrected distinction is straightforward: a documented free weapon path, separate paid crossover content and gameplay changes that deserve their own evaluation.
